Glycogen is simply the storage form of glucose and therefore energy. When you cause a reduction in glycogen stores, you induce dehydration which results in huge weight loss within the first couple of weeks of dieting. People think this is great weight loss with low carbs whenever it is really water and muscle mass your losing.
